Alright- I’m finally back! I’ve been absent from Tumblr for more months than I care to know- I’ve been working on launching multiple businesses (elaboration soon…) and a few activism campaigns, but this one is new and hugely important to me!

SKAIST-TAYLOR, a new clothing line by (fur-free!) Juicy Couture’s founders (Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor) is chock full of dead animals. These women made $200 million from selling Juicy Couture, and apparently that’s not enough. They sell fur from all over the world- including CHINA- which we all know is home to the world’s worst animal cruelty. 

It’s bad enough to see fur pelts from animals that have been skinned alive, drowned, anally electrocuted, gassed, or put to any horrific death for the sake of “fashion,” but it’s even worse seeing it come from two fashionistas that benefitted immensely from the support of the animal rights community (I know they got a lot of my money as a teenager, and I sure as hell don’t want that going to the creation of this pro-fur atrocity).

This year, 4,500,000 foxes will be killed for the fur trade, so companies like INTERMIX can profit from their imprisonment and slaughter.

The fur industry won’t end tomorrow, but we can begin chipping away at it today. Our INTERMIX: Please Go Fur Free petition has almost hit 50,000 signatures- a number this company surely cannot ignore!

Meet Vixey.

She was rescued as a puppy from a fur farm. If she’d stayed there, like millions of other foxes, she would have been anally or vaginally electrocuted to become part of a fur coat for companies like INTERMIX. 

Fur-bearing animals, like foxes, are no different from the dogs & cats we live with and love. If we don’t stop their slaughter, no one will.

INTERMIX sells fur from China, where dog pelts are frequently unlabeled and mixed in with others (2,000,000 dogs & cats die annually in China for the fur trade).

If this doesn’t bother you, don’t sign the petition.

Truth.

Foxes spend their entire lives in filthy, cramped conditions, in which many lives are lost to infection or cannibalism, until they are slaughtered to become vests or fur trim for INTERMIX.

We’re close to hitting 50,000 signatures on our INTERMIX: Please Stop Selling Fur petition- help us get there! Do it for them.

True Religion has yet to reply to our petition or campaign asking them to stop selling fur from trapped coyotes and Chinese raccoon dogs. Once a fur-free retailer, True Religion recently went back on their humane promise and decided to give in to pressure from the fur industry.

Fur “fashion” is NEVER worth the horrific cruelty committed behind manufacturers’ doors. Please sign & share the petition widely!

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a bit (I’m sure you all enjoyed the break from my Intermix posts…don’t get too comfortable, they’ll be back soon!). My family & I popped down to Mexico for some R&R!

If you missed our recent post, here’s the short version: True Religion, a brand that once promised the Humane Society of the United States it was completely fur-free, and a company that prides itself in American-made materials, is selling raccoon dog fur from China! (which, as you know, is home of the world’s worst animal cruelty!)

We’ve heard their CEO, Jeff Lubell, is a beloved and well-respected guy. I have to believe this news will affect him. So please, leave a polite comment for Jeff about how YOU feel about True Religion’s decision to sell dog fur.
