As you may have gathered from my last post, I’m obsessed with fall fashion. Sadly, while I love the effects the change of seasons has on my wardrobe, the arrival of autumn also brings out the ugliest side of the fashion industry: fur. Last year I was absolutely ecstatic when, largely thanks to the effort & pressure put forth by YOU all, a company called Nasty Gal pledged to remove fur from their collection. I checked back in this season and was thrilled to see they’ve kept their promise. This transformation is proof that when the public speaks, the industry listens.
I’d love to harness your passion once again as I join my friend Amy (over at La Belle Nuage) in a campaign to get fur out of Intermix stores. Intermix is a much larger target than Nasty Gal and may require some patience, but I truly believe in the power of compassionate energy to open eyes & change hearts. Please take a minute to send an email, tweet, and/or facebook message to them and encourage them to make compassion the fashion this year by removing fur from their stores and site! You don’t even have to “like” their facebook page to post, so I highly encourage leaving messages, photos, & videos for them to see. I suspect some posts may be deleted, but if we keep them coming in large numbers, they can’t ignore us forever.
